Varun Dhawan asked questions about ‘Vijay Dinanath Chauhan’
Varun Dhawan asks Amitabh Bachchan- ‘As an actor, I would love to know what was in your mind when you played the character of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan? How did you decide on voice modulation? Responding to this, Big B said, ‘I will tell you one thing, some things happen without planning. On the first day of shooting I could not understand how to play that character.
How did you play the role?
Amitabh Bachchan further says- ‘I was in the make-up room and I called Mukul Anand and advised him to give Vijay a deep voice. He agreed and that’s how we decided on it. Big B further said, ‘A man used to come to Kalyanji-Anandji’s house, whose voice was very heavy, so I thought, why not make Vijay’s voice the same way? The first shot of the character was inspired by that.
The spectators started tearing their seats after hearing the sound.
Big B says that but people did not like that voice. He says- ‘However, when the film was released, the producer called and told that there were problems in the theatre. The audience was tearing seats and telling the sound department that he doesn’t sound like Amitabh, fix the sound system! For this reason, Amitabh Bachchan had to re-dub the dialogues of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan.
